Dean of Theology, Dr. Victor Matthews
Victor W. Matthews, PhD, WMC, MAGL, OKC is a third-generation pastor, multiple company founder, Bible teacher and church leader who lives in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. His grandfathers on both sides were church planting pastors; he attended his first revival at the age of seven, and he led his first mission trip at seventeen, over 30 years ago. A born leader, Dr. Matthews was the youngest four-star chef in Louisiana history as well as the youngest master chef in America (at the time). He has always held several jobs, and has founded and run over a dozen successful companies.
His first degrees were English and Education from North Carolina State University, and his Masters was in Global Leadership (Theologically Based) from Fuller Seminary where he was honored to work with Mission Leaders like Bob Freeman, Robert Gallagher, Chuck van Engen, and Bobby Clinton. Dr. Matthews has been a believer most of his life and a deeply committed passionate Christian Leader and pastor for over a decade. He taught his first professional class in 1990, so he has over 27 years of teaching experience; and has written five books including Modern Paladin, the textbook used in some parts of these courses (an edited version of his massive 180,000 word PhD Dissertation). All of these credentials, and his deep love of God and dedication to building bridges between denominations and cultures, led
him to be installed by Warnborough as the Head of the Theology Department, marking the first time in 45 years that this post has been held by a modern Evangelical Charismatic American.
Any concerns or requests in the field of Theology or Religion can be addressed to him at vmatthews@warnborough.edu.
Associate Professor Dr. Mark Cole
Mark Cole, PhD, Th.M., MAR, LL.M. received his Bachelors at Baylor University in English and Political Science, which was followed by a fellowship at Trinity College at the University of Dublin, then a Masters from the Yale School of Divinity, Notre Dame Law School, and then another Masters in International Economic Law from the University of Houston. Even through a successful
career as a practicing attorney and father of six children, Dr. Cole attained an additional Theology Masters from Whitefield Theological Seminary and PhD in the History of Ideas from Warnborough. He resides in Magnolia, Texas and was the founding president of John https://surgicaleducation.com/levitra-tablets/ Witherspoon Seminary as well as Teaching Pastor at his church while managing to become a county level elected official. Such achievements speak of his boundless energy and devotion to lifelong learning and teaching.
Dr. Cole strongly believes in equipping Christian workers with the fundamentals of a sound theological education, especially in the history of theology. He was privileged to receive an MA in Religion (philosophical theology) from Yale Divinity School, where he studied with Nick Wolterstorff. At Notre Dame Law School, he studied Thomas Aquinas under Ralph McInerny and John Finnis. Though Dr. Cole has identified with historic Protestant and especially Baptist traditions during his journey, he is friendly and conversant with all theological traditions. It is exactly these traits which led to his appointment as a member of the Theology Department of Warnborough College. Dr. Cole’s historical Reformationist leanings balance well with the Evangelical Charismatic foundation of Dr. Matthews and beyond ecumenical doctrine, they share a common dedication to the Practical side of Theology. No ivory towers here, only pragmatic, useful leadership and biblically based training in all areas and sub-fields of pastoral Christian Studies.
Other Instructors and Guest Field Specialists
Throughout the various programs, sections, and modules, a variety of guest adjunct professors comprised of worldwide specific area specialists and subject masters may be invited to provide additional relevant content. For instance, if a PhD student were to be researching the area of female leaders in the missionary field, several prominent female missionary leaders may be
invited to be involved with the process and form a part of the graduate committee. Or if a Master’s level student was focusing their thesis on the emerging world of BAM (Business As Mission) they might be invited to the annual world conference in Thailand and several of the founders of these companies may be tapped to provide direct intimate knowledge and support.
Another common source of adjunct instruction might be denominational. The Theology Department is Non-Denominational, but if a student were to be deep in study of say Roman Catholic History, then a suitable Roman Catholic historian or leader might be invited to assist in mentoring. These are only examples of the vast and broad body of possible mentors and guest field specialists available. For insight into the depth of some of these connections worldwide feel free to examine the biographies above and access the Alumni Worthies list for further clarity.
